General Questions
What is the difference between the “My Courses” and the “Catalog” lists?
The “My Courses” list includes all courses that you either have in progress or have completed. The “Catalog” list includes all courses that you have not yet opened.
 
How do I search for courses that meet my specific needs?
A panel on the left side of the "My Courses" and "Catalog" screens contains a search function. From this area, you can search using various criteria including title, author, field of study, keyword, CPE credits, etc. The results of your search will come up on the right side of your screen. Click on the applicable result to open the course.
 
I found a course in the "Catalog" list that I am interested in taking, but want more information about the course, such as how many credits I will receive, recommended prerequisites, course highlights, etc. Where can I find this information?
Click on the title of the course in either the "My Courses" list, the "Catalog" list or in your Tracker. A new window will open that contains the relevant information on the course.
 
I'm not sure a particular course will meet my needs. Can I preview it before
I take it?

Yes for CPExpress courses. From the "My Courses" or "Catalog" screen, click on the "Preview" button. You will see 3 screens of the course and 3 exam questions. You will not receive credit for answering these exam questions from the preview function. In order to obtain CPE credit, you will need to take the entire course: all screens, exhibits, exercises, and pass the full course exam.
 
The course still appears on the "Catalog" list. What should I do?
Click on the "My Courses" tab. The course should now appear on this screen with an updated status. Because the course has been opened, the course will no longer appear on the "Catalog" screen.
 
How many times can I take a course?
You may take a course as often as you want until your subscription expires or until the course expires. Once you complete the course and pass the course exam, the course will appear in your Tracker with the number of CPE credits awarded and your certificate of completion. You can go back to the course for reference even after you have passed the exam, but you will not receive credit again.
 
Can I download a course for use offline?
All courses must be taken online.
 
Can I start a course now, and finish it later?
Yes. When you close a course, the program automatically leaves a bookmark to the screen from which you leave. When you reopen that course from your "My Courses" screen, the program will ask you if you want to start at the beginning, or where you left off.
 
Can I print out the course or specific screens?
You cannot print all content screens at once. However, you can print each screen independently by right-clicking your mouse on that screen. Also, certain pop-up screens may be printed through Acrobat.

How can I see a record of the credits I've earned?
Click on the Tracker tab. This opens your personal record, where all the credits you've earned are listed.
 
Can anyone else see my student record?
Generally no. If your firm has purchased CPExpress through the firm access purchase plan, your firm's designated Firm Access Control Administrator will be able to view your courses in progress and your Tracker. 
 
If I fail an CPExpress test, can I take it again and still get credit?
Yes, simply click on the "Course Exam" button on the left navigation bar to take the exam again.
 
Do the exercises within an CPExpress course count toward my final exam grade?
No. These exercises are designed to help you retain the content, and are not part of the course exam.
 
What happens if I take a course more than once? How will it appear in my Tracker?
You can access an CPExpress course as many times as you like until it expires. However, it will only appear in your Tracker once.
 
How will my boss know when I've completed a course?
Your printed certificates serve as proof of the credits you've earned. If your firm has purchased CPExpress through the firm access purchase plan, your firm's designated Firm Access Control Administrator will be able to view your courses in progress and your Tracker.
 
Can I print a certificate more than once?
Yes, you can print it as many times as you want. Simply go to your Tracker, click on the "View Certificate" button and use the "Print" button located on the toolbar.
 
Do my credits get reported to the state board automatically?
No.It is your responsibility to print a copy of your certificate (available from Tracker) and furnish it to your state.
 
Firm Access
I am an CPExpress Access Control Administrator for my firm - what can I do?
As an Access Control Administrator you have a special "Firm" tab. From this screen, you can view your employees' "My Courses" and "Tracker" screens. The "My Courses" screen will provide you with the status of courses in progress. The "Tracker" screen will provide you with information on courses completed. You can also manage your employees' supplemental CPE file located on the Tracker screen below the transcript. You can review, add, or remove items on the supplemental CPE file.
 
Can I have a discount for my firm or business if we buy multiple subscriptions?
For firm pricing information, call (800) 634-6780 and select option 1.
 
How do I get my money back if both my firm/company and I paid?
You can receive a refund if duplicate payments were made. Call (888) 777-7077 for assistance.
 
Navigation Within an CPExpress Course
How do I start a course?
In "My Courses" or the "Catalog" list, you can start a course by clicking on the "Launch" button to the right of the course. Once you are inside the course, click on the "Start course" button to get to the first page of the course.
 
I am not able to maximize my CPExpress course window. Is something wrong?
No, this is by design. Most pages within a course fit in the window with only minimal scrolling.
 
Can I bookmark a page in an CPExpress course?
When you close a course, the program automatically leaves a bookmark to the screen from which you leave. When you reopen that course from your Tracker, the program will ask you if you want to start at the beginning, or where you left off.
 
How do I search within an CPExpress course?
Click on the "Search" button on the navigation bar on the left side of your screen. You will be able to do a simple word search and a proximity search from here. Click on the applicable search result and you will be brought to the exact place in the course that relates to your search result.
 
Multimedia in an CPExpress Course
Can I take the courses if I don't have speakers on my PC?
If your computer allows you to hear the audio through its built-in speaker. Otherwise, you need to obtain external speakers. 
 
I don't know what Flash is. Do I really need it?
Flash is a plug-in that allows you to see animation and certain types of interactive files. You do need it, but if you are running either Netscape or Microsoft Explorer version 4.0 or later, Flash is built-in to your browser.

Can I take the courses on my Palm PC?
Not at this time.
