Magazine Ad Pages, Revenue Continue Gains in April
Finance, insurance and real estate post 14th consecutive monthly uptick.

New York, NY (May 10, 2005)—Total magazine rate-card-reported advertising revenue for the month of April 2005 increased 6.4 percent compared to April of last year, according to Publishers Information Bureau (PIB). Year-to-date, PIB revenue was 8.6 percent higher than the comparable four-month period in 2004, although ad pages gained just under one percent.

Year-to-date, six of the 12 major advertising categories posted increases in PIB revenue and pages: Food & Food Products; Apparel & Accessories; Direct Response; Media & Advertising; Retail; and Public Transportation, Hotels & Resorts. Double-digit PIB revenue and page growth recorded by the Food & Food Products; Financial, Insurance & Real Estate; and Media & Advertising in the first four months of 2005.
