CONFERENCE NEWS: Spotlight on GAAC East and West
Program provides participants with “how-to” guidance from policymakers and key officials.
from AICPA Custom Media Solutions

The economic crisis is impacting all levels of government and their audits, resulting in increases in regulatory changes. Because of fraud issues, the turbulent economy and the new government stimulus package, the laws are constantly changing. The AICPA National Governmental Accounting and Auditing Update Conferences (GAAC) East and West (PDF) features interactive sessions for local, state and federal (DC only) governments. Participants receive timely guidance and practical advice on how to handle new legislation and standards from key government officials and representatives of the accounting profession — including the standard-setters themselves!

Session highlights and hot topics include:

  • Sessions on Current Fiscal Stress Issues and Long-Term Challenges
  • New GASB Standards by GASB Staff
  • New Perspective on Ethics
  • Administration’s Call for Transparency and Accountability
  • Economic Impact on All Government Levels and Their Audits
  • Updates on Federal and AICPA Task Force Changes to Improve the Single Audit Process

Network With the Most Influential Authorities in the Country
