TECH
2005: The AICPA Information Technology Conference,
celebrates its 25th anniversary this year at the Bellagio
in Las Vegas, NV. Flash back to 1980 -- SPAM, spyware, PDAs, even
e-mail was unheard of in business communications. “The show
has seen quantum leaps in the topics and amounts of information
being presented,” notes AICPA Marketing Director Cheryl
Callahan. This year’s agenda, adds Callahan, will cover
everything from technical training to the “Changing Landscape
of Business Management Software”.
Similarly, the
exhibit hall has grown by leaps and bounds. In the beginning, there
were a minimal number of exhibitors and now there are more than
80 different vendors on the show floor. And once again, we have
designated a Vendor Hospitality evening following the 25th
anniversary bash with special guest Rick Richardson on Tuesday,
June 28th.

Century Celebration Issue (October 2005)
While technology
advances in the past 25 years have been considerable, life a century
ago would seem almost unrecognizable. Yet, that is how long the
AICPA’s Journal of Accountancy has been publishing
and the October 2005 issue will celebrate the changes seen in the
profession since that first issue landed on accountants’ desks.
This landmark issue will feature numerous articles that not only
take a look back but offer a look forward.
For advertisers,
this is a great opportunity to showcase your ongoing commitment
to the accounting profession. Several programs have been designed
to incorporate an advertiser’s legacy.
